At Mcroons, we believe that quality eyecare should be accessible to everyone.
While we do not currently offer NHS-funded services, we’re actively working on bringing NHS eye test support and optical voucher acceptance to our platform very soon.
In the meantime, we’ve prepared this guide to help you understand how NHS vision support works, so you’re fully informed and ready when this service becomes available on Mcroons.
Many people in the UK qualify for free NHS eye tests and optical vouchers to help cover the cost of their glasses.
You may be eligible if you:
● Are under 16, or a full-time student aged 16 to 18
● Are over 60
● Have diabetes or glaucoma
● Receive certain benefits (such as Income Support, Universal Credit, etc.)
● Have a complex prescription
Organizations like OutsideClinic offer NHS-funded home eye tests for eligible customers.
These services allow you to:
● Book a home visit with a qualified optician
● Get your eye test and prescription at home
● Receive an NHS optical voucher
While Mcroons isn’t directly partnered with these services yet, we’re currently exploring options to make these solutions available through our platform in the near future.
We’re working behind the scenes to make it possible for you to apply your NHS optical voucher directly when shopping at Mcroons.
Once available, you’ll be able to:
1. Get your eye test from an NHS-approved provider
2. Request your NHS optical voucher
3. Shop your favorite eyewear on Mcroons.com
4. Apply your voucher during checkout or through our support team
